The downstairs space comprises a large open-plan sitting room and dining room with a large open fireplace at one end. This leads directly onto the large well appointed kitchen making it a very practical and sociable space, especially suited to families. Leading off the kitchen is a utility room with a washing machine and plenty of space for drying wet clothes and boots.
Double patio doors lead off the dining space onto the private, East facing garden terrace with fabulous views over woodland and lakes. Outside dining table and chairs are provided. Lots of space for family and friend’s get togethers. Logs, home produced eggs, honey and lamb available to purchase from the farm.
For younger guests we provide a travel cot, high chair, changing mat, toys (including bath toys), bath towels, bath seat, potty and a travel steriliser.
We have a pond dipping platform which is great fun. You can hire the kit and go by yourselves to explore or book a session with me to guide you through your finds. We also have wildlife and star gazing binoculars available to hire.
Board games, jigsaws, books, magazines, DVDs, walking maps and leaflets, and wifi all make staying in by the fire a real treat.
We welcome well behaved dogs, maximum two per booking, at a charge of £20 for one dog, £30 for two dogs per booking. We also accept horses at a cost of £6 per horse per night. At the moment we can only offer grazing and not stabling. You can have exclusive use of a paddock a short walk from the house. If you wish to subdivide the field please bring your own electric fencing. A large indoor barn is available for tying up, grooming, storage etc. Wheelbarrow, tools and buckets will be provided. Hay and straw can be purchased. A bridleway goes right through the yard so you can ride straight from the farm and enjoy local pubs and cafes within riding distance.
Please note that the garden is not secure and we have free range chickens who potter about the yard and sometimes the garden of the holiday cottage, and there are often sheep in the field in front of the cottage. There is a wall with a drop on the far side into the field and there are stone slab steps leading down to the garden from the patio doors.
